I've got the chance of the above kit , only the transmitter and receiver are on Channel 69 , which I know is no longer legal here in the UK .

While I know that no modifications are offered for the less expensive Evolution kits ( one of which I already have ) , I've read rumours that these broadcast units can be modified to operate on other frequencies .....

Does anybody on here know for certain ?

I have emailed Sennheiser customer service , so will find out in due course , the other factor being the cost , which would affect the price I'm willing to pay .

For the benefit of others , I got a reply from Sennheiser .

These units can be modified to operate on Ch 38 , at a cost of £130 for the transmitter , and £600 for the receiver , both plus VAT . Although a substantial amount this is still a lot less than the new cost of equivalent units .

There is also a less expensive option of having the units retuned to operate in the guardband between 4G uplink and downlink bands , this would cost £60 per unit plus VAT and postage , so much more affordable for me . This retuning does not involve any hardware modification , hence the lower price .

With this in mind I'm going to get the two units and see how I get on with them .

Both sets of frequencies are subject to the shared licence , which we have at work , so I'd be OK using them for work related stuff , but I'd have to purchase one if I started using them for my own activities .

Since my existing Ch 70 licence free EW 100 kit borders on unusable in some locations , due to interference from 4G , it is an option worth exploring - however , these alternative frequencies might be problematic too , whereas Ch 38 kit works perfectly .
