View Full Version : Search problems?
Ian Stark October 22nd, 2005, 04:40 AM Am I the only one or are others having problems using the search facilities within any forum?
I can use the 'main' search button from the screen containing the list of forums, but when I enter a forum neither the main search button or the search within forum button works. There is also an error on the page.
I am using IE 6 on XP Home with SP2. Also using XP Pro with SP2 on a laptop. Same problem.
Cheers.

Chris Hurd October 22nd, 2005, 06:30 AM Yeah, it's a problem that everyone is having. I'm back in the office on Monday and will get it sorted out as soon as possible.
Paul Bravmann November 3rd, 2005, 05:42 PM It is for me. Hope I'm not the only, one or else there's something wrong with my machine.

Pete Bauer November 10th, 2005, 09:39 PM FYI, in addition to going to the home page:
http://www.dvinfo.net/conf
to click a working SEARCH link, it looks like at least for me on my Windows computer, Right-Click>>Open in New Window will bring up the Advanced Search (http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/search.php?) page in a new window even if just left-clicking the search link doesn't work on a particular page.

Pure genius workaround. Thank you!
Shawn Murphy December 3rd, 2005, 02:00 AM From within any forum I can't click on the 'Forum Tools' or the 'Search This Forum' links (well, I can actualy click on them, but nothing happens). Actually, when I click on any forum link, when the page loads I get an error in the bottom left of IE):

*Yes, right clicking and choosing open in a new window seems to work, but that's kinda weird that only me, or only a few of us have this problem... is this a known issue with IE (6.0) and PHP or something?
Josef Heks December 4th, 2005, 04:22 AM Ive noticed that too. When i need to search, I find the only way is typing:
http://dvinfo.net/conf/search.php
Chris Hurd December 4th, 2005, 12:56 PM Fixed (I think). Let me know if there are problems still.
Shawn Murphy December 4th, 2005, 06:04 PM my problem is fixed, thanks Chris!
Mike Cavanaugh December 6th, 2005, 09:04 AM Chris - I'm still having problems with search. Any chance the problems some are having are related to anti-spyware or pop-up blockers that some networks have?
Emre Safak December 13th, 2005, 03:45 PM It does not work for me (Firefox 1.5, XP SP2).
Chris Hurd December 15th, 2005, 01:57 AM Oy. Looks like we'll have to check under the hood again.
Chris Hurd December 20th, 2005, 04:11 PM Okay... steady now... easy... easy... okay. Seems like... yes. Fixed. Finally.
No wait! Don't touch that!!
Oh, nevermind. It really is fixed.
Mike Teutsch December 20th, 2005, 04:44 PM Way to go Chris!
