I've been here a few times before, once with my rx10 and once with my nex-ea50, which I have sold after a year. I actually like all 3 videos I did with these camera's eventhough there are bigger differences between them. This was shot in Jlog with a 15mm f1.7 and a 42,5mm f1.7 and one shot with a 9-18mm Olympus lens. This was shot, edited, exported and uploaded in 4K, didn't use a lut, just some minor colorcorrection with added contrast and saturation.
The focuspulls where done with the zoomrocker which can control the focus on fly by wire lenses which can give you controlled and smooth focus pulls but it's not always easy to stop refocussing on the right moment so you might have to correct or try 2 or 3 times until you hit it right.

I get quality and buffering issues when I view these videos on dvinfo but not when viewing them on vimeo, not sure why that is but for best quality you best click on the title to view the videos on vimeo.

Both Sony footage look more cinematic to me. You've graded them better, had nicer weather, better shots etc.

Just not a fan of the JVC.

The sony footage was not graded, that was straight from the camera. The difference was that when I shot with the JVC it was a cloudy day while the sun was shining when I was out with the sonys so that makes a difference and ofcourse the fact that I shot in Jlog and hardly did any grading on it. When I shoot in ITU709 the image becomes much more punchy in either color or contrast making it look close to what my rx10 provides with a standard preset.

That JVC looked fantastic on my ultra wide monitor. It comes up full screen and displays your lovely footage to best advantage.

Do you think you will be going back to Sony at some point in the future ? why did you decide to move to JVC all of a sudden ? I always thought the short films / weddings videos you produced with your Sony cameras were stunning.

Which Sony's are you referring to? :) I have a ax100 and cx730's which are only good for long form ceremony recording, I have a rx10 which produces some great images but only if the light is good, it's image falls apart once the lights get turned down and it has a very limited dynamic range and have had a nex-ea50 which was a bit too large for my taste but it did produce some nice looking footage as long as I did not use any preset, it's footage though was full of moire and aliasing and lacking detail, even my cx730 outresolved this camera.

I get the best looking footage, according to my opinion, from my panasonics, the wedding I did last year in Ghent together with Craig (http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/wedding-event-video-members-only/529388-american-wedding-ghent.html) was primarily shot on GH3/4's as main camera's with the rx10/ax100 serving as b-camera's and that wedding I consider my best one to date.

The wedding I did with my jvc (http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/wedding-event-video-members-only/531106-first-wedding-jvc-gy-ls300.html) shows the camera can output color out of the box and eventhough there are still some quirks I had to deal with, like any other camera out there, this camera combines many advantages my other camera's have and then adds some, this is a camera I now can use as main camera throughout a weddingday when I"m shooting my new "one camera" wedding package because that is the direction I"m heading to.

Ah so you still use the AX100 / CX730's ...

And for some silly reason I had completely forgotten you had a Panasonic GH4.

Looks like I was in love with the CX730 / GH4 then !!!
