I have a question for those who operate this camera on the tripod, where some kind of controller is best suited on the tripod handle - offering the minimum of function like start/stop and zoom control. Unfortunately, I sold all my LANC controllers along with the last camera that used this protocol (V1 it was, if I remember correctly). AFAIU, the FS series can be used with LANC controllers again, so - before I buy one again - a question:

- is is practical to move the FS7 arm with the hand-grip backwards, and use it as the panning handle instead of the regular tripod handle (with all functionality of the hand-grip buttons)?

Has anyone used it that way? Please tell me about such usage pros&cons; TIA

Piotr

PS. Looking at the FS7 pictures I think it's not possible to use the arm like that; has anyone tried to attach the handgrip alone to the tripod handle?

Piotr it works the FS7 grip can be attached directly to the tripod or tripod extension arm.

The FS5 grip can be use on the tripod arm also you will need a handle bar clamp and Lanc extension cable.

Sony LANC Remote Controller with Zoom, Focus, and Record Start/Stop this is what I use most of the time it allows you to adjust focus and on Sony Lens.
