I shot a wedding in 1080 60p. Normally I would simply render the video to 60i for bluray and be done with it. I've been putting out 1080i on blurays a long time, and they are fine, but like anyone, I do prefer the look of progressive vs. interlaced.

I'm curious, how would it work out if I render the project to 24p in Vegas for Bluray?

I'm not trying to achieve a film look, but it would be nice to keep the progressive part. Thoughts? I don't have a technical understanding of what would occur in this process. I'm just editing at this point, so I have time to decide.

I understand I could downsize to 720 60p and that it would be bluray compliant, but not crazy about the idea.

Why not 1280x720P60 ? That way you would not loose the smooth motion of 60P. If you just make a 1920x1080i Bluray most modern Bluray players and TVs will deinterlace to 60P anyway. High refresh rate TV's do a very good job of deinterlacing as do upscaling Bluray players. Personally I would not worry about it.

Thanks Ron, as usual!

I'm still curious what happens to 60p footage when rendered out to 24p in Vegas. Anyone have an idea?
