Hi - Has anyone used this company before? They are selling the A7sII body about £500 less than other retailers - are these grey imports? They offer 3 year UK warranty.
Cheers

Cheers Pete Noa Put November 6th, 2015, 06:24 AM I have had contact with a similar company that claimed their prices where incl vat but it wasn't, when I requested to have an invoice excl vat (because for me it was an intracommunity purchase which I can ask for as a company within the EU that's buying from a EU country other then mine) and they then said this was not possible as their prices did not include vat, so the displayed price was actually excl taxes but they sell to any other consumer who doesn't have a vatnr at this price as well which is illegal. That's why they do claim it's incl vat because the displayed price is what anyone will pay, only you as a company will not be able to declare taxes because there are none. The only ones that have a actual advantage are people without a company and vatnr. Steve Bleasdale November 6th, 2015, 08:25 AM Pete i am getting my two from these, bought my g7 and other stuff and they are good mate. Steve NEW Sony Alpha a7S II Mirrorless Digital Camera Body Only Mark II Mk2 | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301775861970?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) Noa Put November 6th, 2015, 11:18 AM That looks the same like panamoz, not sure what benefit you have as a company buying from them as you cannot deduct taxes, also if the camera malfunctions, do they have good customerservice? Steve Bleasdale November 6th, 2015, 03:22 PM Yes i have bought from them loads of times, couple things gone wrong and they have there 12 month guarantee just send it they sort it. Noa Put November 6th, 2015, 03:28 PM What does their invoice say, does the listed price include salestax? Frank Prince-Iles November 6th, 2015, 04:18 PM Bought a couple of items from them no problems, plus they have an office in Brighton where I live Noa Put November 6th, 2015, 04:26 PM From Panamoz? So it's a UK based company then? Is vat mentioned separately on their invoice? Just asking because that would make a big difference. Clive McLaughlin November 6th, 2015, 07:47 PM I do get a little mixed up with all the's sites. But one of them, I think Panamoz, have a call back procedure to finalise your deal. Call comes from the states. Or at least the guy who called me was a american anyway. Basically an exercise in up selling. They will offer you filters and straps etc... But I just politely declined and a few days later had a brand new lens in my hand at a bargain price. Noa Put November 7th, 2015, 01:55 AM One quote on Panamoz site confirmed what I thought: "Will I have to pay any import taxes and duties, such as VAT? You will not have to pay any. Our prices are all inclusive." I read this as that you as buyer are supposed to declare it and pay duty cost and VAT but as we know no one does that, I also think that eventhough they claim to be a UK based company all goods are shipped directly from Hong Kong to you as buyer, they seem to have a warehouse in the UK as well but my guess is that you don't buy from them directly, the warehouse is just to deliver the goods. A way that Panamoz is able to evade extra costs might also be that they describe the goods as "toys" with a low value, a trick I have seen used a lot by Hong Kong companies where I ordered from use to bypass custom checks. There are lots of positive reviews to be found back about them but also negative ones, from what I see some dslr's would be approx 300 euro cheaper for me, even taken the tax of 21% that I can deduct into account but as it looks mainly people from the UK benefit the most. If I would not have a company I definitely would buy from them because the price differences are substantial but as a company I don't see the benefit for a 300euro profit on a expensive camera, I would prefer to deal with a local videostore. Nigel Barker November 7th, 2015, 04:49 AM Panamoz pretend to be a UK based company but are actually based in Hong Kong. They offer attractive prices because they evade VAT & customs duty by either smuggling or under declaring the value of the goods they are shipping. You as the purchaser are complicit in the crime & ultimately can be prosecuted whereas Panamoz are beyond the reach of UK/EU courts. You may or may not be able to get warranty repair in the UK/EU as these are not even grey imports but smuggled goods. If you want good prices on grey imports then HDEW are a good bet as thye have been in business for 30 years & even have bricks & mortar premises that you can collect goods from http://www.hdewcameras.co.uk Peter Rush November 7th, 2015, 06:15 AM Sadly HDEW seem not to stock Sony cameras :( |
