View Full Version : Hero or another Steve Bleasdale September 16th, 2015, 02:24 PM anyone tell me anything better than cheap go pro hero for backpacking Australia photos video etc. urgent anyone Robert Benda September 16th, 2015, 02:40 PM I would simply use my phone, which is pretty new, rather than having to add an item and weight to my hiking gear. Newer nice phones (mine is a Moto X) match up pretty well with most action cams. Unless you've got a Hero4 Black and its 4K for video, maybe, which was on sale for $370 yesterday (via Ebay store, I think). Steve Bleasdale September 17th, 2015, 03:25 AM Cheers Robert, my son is going snorkeling great barrier reef as well as all sorts and a bit skint so i think he is going for the go pro. cheer main man. Roger Gunkel September 17th, 2015, 04:09 AM Hi Steve, SJ4000, cheap as chips, does everything the GoPro does, has a back screen and the last one I bought cost me £40. I have two and a GoPro. Roger Steve Bleasdale September 17th, 2015, 05:21 AM Great Roger, is the sj5000+ better or would the 4000 suffice. steve Robert Benda September 17th, 2015, 06:01 AM Ahh, as far as GoPros go, then the Silver would be a better choice for the typical person on a vacation. It has a back screen (unlike the Black) and can still do 2.7K, if he cares. Roger Gunkel September 17th, 2015, 06:42 AM the GoPro3 silver doesn't have a screen so you would need a GoPro 4. It all depends on how much you want to spend. The SJ5000+ I believe has a much bigger Panasonic sensor 1/2.3 plus wifi and screen. Roger Steve Bleasdale September 17th, 2015, 07:11 AM Cheers guys he just got the sj4000 with card and accessories for £67 all in amazon. thanks again Chris Harding September 17th, 2015, 07:39 AM Hey Steve I also have two and took them to Cocos Keeling Islands on our little vacation in December and they worked flawlessly!! I did some really rough footage for family but it gives you an idea how the camera works above and under the water ..excuse the wobbly footage though!! cocos.mp4 - YouTube Chris Steve Bleasdale September 17th, 2015, 07:57 AM Perfect cheers Chris |
