Does anyone in the Ontario area have an X70 that they'd be willing to rent on occasion? I live in the GTA - Niagara region and have a project that requires that exact model (it's the only small form factor camcorder with a medium sized sensor that supports 4:2:2 10-bit SDI output and servo zoom via workaround-LANC).

I realize the forum has a rental section, however I need this exact model of camera, so I figured it would be more efficient to simply post here.

Thanks!

Hello,
Joe Sutherland Rentals (416 778-4228) at 1 Carlaw Ave. (Corner where the Gardner ends) has 10 X-70s for rent. He also has dozens of other broadcast cameras like Sony PXW F7s, PMW f55, 400, 700, 800, etc. He has at least 24 Canon C300s as many TV series use his gear. Probably the lowest rental rates around. Joe Sutherland Rentals Toronto, Ontario, Canada - HD Video Equipment For Rent - Film, Movies, Television, Production, Digital Media, Professional Broadcasting Gear, Cameras, DLSR, Lenses, Monitors, Media, View Finders, Recorders, Lighting, Audio, Tri (http://www.joesutherland.com)

He is holding an open house at his new satellite west end location at 200 Evans Ave Unit 7 this coming Friday, May 1, 2015.
It's just West of Islington South of the Gardner (across White's)

I've rented gear from Joe for many years. (I'm now a good friend) I'm providing this info because I think people should know. Good luck!

Thanks Peter.

Online rental rates range between $155/w (ATS) to $225/w (Borrowlenses). Unfortunately none of them ship to Canada.

Joe has a great list of inventory, and has great rates for some of his high end gear, however unfortunately his X70 rates are $800/w, which just doesn't seem competitive (rent twice and you can buy the camera used outright for the same price).

I'm looking for a cost effective private rental, or to establish a relationship with another Ontario videographer where we can exchange gear as needed (I have an absolute ton of great gear). If not I may just have to rent from someone like ATS and have it shipped to the border (easy enough considering that I live in Niagara).

Thanks again.
