I'm trying to switch from DVD to jump (flash) drives.

Produced FCPX 1080P video and chose export file, H.264/1920x1080/Quicktime Movie AAC/include chapter markers/opens with Quicktime Player.app/Roles as Quicktime Movie/29.97 fps
I format the jump drive for exfat
Add mp4 which is a .mov
Try in Vizio TV USB - Empty folder

Same when formatted as FAT or Mac OS Journaled

Tried putting the .mov in a folder on the flash drive...folder marked as empty on my TV

Tried several different kinds of jump drives...fail

One instance where the jump drive was formatted for PC and my file was found and playable in an obscure folder: .Spotlight-V100 whatever that is. I cannot send that kind of crap to my clients. Anyone with a somewhat elegant workflow that works?

Well, if it's possible for you to export as avi, that should be pretty universal. Maybe your TV can't handle mov.

I normally send mine out as h.264 in mp4 container on FAT32 and haven't heard anything bad back yet.

Thank you. It will play .mov, but most of the time the .mov files disappear. It's baffling me. What is your workflow?

Hey Dana, I've just got a very basic workflow.

-- Generally the disks come formatted as FAT32, and I leave it as that unless I need to go over 4GB. Then it's exFAT.
-- Just render out as h.264 from Premiere or Media Encoder at 1080p25. By default, this gets an .mp4 container. I normally set bitrate pretty low, something around 9 average, maximum 10Mb/s, because these are, or used to be, recommended settings for YouTube.
