Does this look authentic?

DVX100/Something new at NAB (http://panasonicprovideo.tumblr.com/post/116206425587/dvx100-something-new-at-nab)

edit - yeah, it's from Mr. Miyagi's own blog.

An AG-AF100A-like camcorder with 4K and a better ergonomic would be great!

I'm curious.

And it's interesting to look at his official position - "Hi, My name is Kunihiko Miyagi, and I am the director of the pro video division of Panasonic (officially the Professional AV Business Unit)."

So Panasonic professional - not consumer.

It may be silly to read too much into that, but it just may be an indication that any announcement is more likely to be s35 than 4/3? In other words, based on the Varicam chip rather than that from their GH range? We'll find out soon enough. What time in Europe does the Las Vegas announcement correspond to?

If it's DVX100 like, it's actually fixed lens.

I'll be very curious about sensor size. 1'' seems to be the sweet spot for sensors designed for 4K. If we do see an AF200 though, that's equally as good.

So much of me wants panasonic to play in the super 35 world.

Damn m43...

David, Las Vegas is on Pacific Daylight Time (GMT-7) if that helps.

The Panasonic Las Vegas announcement should be at 10.00 AM, which means 6:00 PM in London or 7:00 PM in Paris I think.

It is a 4K DVX200.

AG-DVX200 4K Large-Sensor Handheld Camcorder Features Top-End Performance

Offering many top-end features such 4K/60p recording, a 13X optical zoom and a V-Log L gamma curve (12 stops of latitude, target) and delivering a shallow depth of field and a wide field of view, the DVX200 is the ideal companion camera to the company’s groundbreaking VariCam 35 4K camera/recorder.

The DVX200 will be optimized for 4K/HD production and shares the esteemed VariCam family characteristics of filmic tonality and colorimetry, with natural, subtle rendering of skin flesh tones. It will offer a V-Log curve emulating the natural grey-scale rendition of the VariCam 35. The camcorder will be available in Fall 2015 with a suggested list price under $5000.

I'm actually more curious that both companies released 4K 2/3'' cameras. Panasonic's as it stands right now does not need a software license purchase to utilize 4K immediately. (unless I'm wrong)
