View Full Version : Artwork, Cases, and USB drives
Katie Fasel April 6th, 2015, 09:31 AM Hey all,
I've been searching the forum to see what people are using for their artwork. Seems like most people print their own, which we have been doing...but looking into the possibility of outsourcing this, and wondering if anyone has any good recommendations.
It would need to be someone who can do DVD and Bluray sleeves, as well as a matching print right on the discs themselves. Does anyone know any good places that do that? Seemed from my search that there were a lot of case / sleeve options, but direct to disc was hard to find.
Thanks!!
Edward Carlson April 6th, 2015, 12:55 PM I've never used them, but Disc Makers offers a bunch of services. I was looking at them to do bulk blank DVD printing, but they do the full on case and disc printing with any number of case options.
Michael Silverman April 6th, 2015, 01:37 PM On a similar topic, I will be transitioning to only offering DVDs and Blu-Rays as a paid option as I'm offering a "Customized USB Drive" as the primary form of delivery. Does anyone work with a company in the US that does a good job of creating custom USB drives with either artwork or engravings?
Edward Carlson April 6th, 2015, 01:38 PM We get ours done at Flashbay. I've only had one dud out of a few thousand.
Michael Silverman April 6th, 2015, 04:14 PM Thanks Edward, I'll check them out!
Peter Rush April 7th, 2015, 03:01 AM Has anyone come across a DVD like case that holds a USB? I'm sure I've seen one somewhere.

Companies like Loxley or SIM2000 that supply wedding albums for photographers do some fancy ones.

Also looking Peter.
Peter Rush April 7th, 2015, 03:52 AM I'm specifically looking for one that holds a USB drive but not a DVD - I'm sure I've seen one somewhere!

Malcolm Debono April 8th, 2015, 02:31 PM Further to Chris' post, I also highly recommend Warehouse Video UK (Wedding DVD Cases - Blank DVDs - DVD Jewel Case - VHS Tape Packs – Warehouse Video, Middlesex, UK (http://www.warehouse-video.co.uk)). I don't have any affiliation with them, but I'm very pleased with their level of communication (I usually deal with Greg).
Their metal disc cases are stunning and clients always get so excited when I hand it to them! I'm pretty sure they offer USB drives + cases.

Mike,
Curious how you will provide the full-length video on a thumdrive. Chill you break up the significant moments into separate video files? Offer one large file? I haven't found a suitable way to translate DVD chapters into a comparable thumb drive presentation.
Also, what video format will you export to?
Taky Cheung April 9th, 2015, 11:17 PM I got a manufacturer custom built a box for me. It has an acrylic front pocket that hold a standard 4x6 photos. So I can either print them at home, or send to walmart or CVS to print. So far the prototype looks nice.
I like it this way as it's personalized to the bride and groom. Not just a nice box with my studio logo on it. It has no emotion tie to the couple
Oh it can stand on it's own too.. so it can function like a photo frame :)
