Kevin Railsback May 1st, 2016, 04:35 AM We'll be getting in early morning on the 8th and leaving on the 15th Geir Inge May 1st, 2016, 03:56 PM Hi Vishal. I'm staying from monday 10th oct - friday 14th oct. Vishal Jadhav May 1st, 2016, 09:33 PM I plan to be there from Sunday morning to checking out on the next Saturday morning. Have to meet a few friends depending upon them being in UK at that time. Hence my time in UK may be the above or few day plus. Kevin Railsback May 2nd, 2016, 04:36 AM Looking forward to seeing everyone there! Only five months away! Trond Saetre May 2nd, 2016, 07:02 AM I'm planning Monday 10th until Friday 14th. Hopefully I will get vacation so I can go. Haven't bought any tickets for the wildscreen yet, but I take that as it comes. Most important is to meet all of you, and have a great time. Mick Jenner May 2nd, 2016, 09:17 AM This all sounds promising. Looking forward to meeting you all and listening to al your tales of wonders and woes first hand Catherine Russell May 3rd, 2016, 12:05 PM .... and you guys will be posting photos and such once in awhile to this forum during this trip, right? To share with the rest of us? It really is a trip of a lifetime and needs to be documented... even if it's a snippet here and there. I'll be celebrating a birthday during that time. What a wish come true to celebrate it there with the UWOL team. If you think of it, post a group photo here on the forum around October 9th, and my birthday wish will come true! ;-) Trond Saetre May 3rd, 2016, 12:14 PM That wish might come true :) Kevin Railsback May 3rd, 2016, 04:09 PM I'll be taking plenty of pics and video Cat Mat Thompson May 3rd, 2016, 05:02 PM Cor blimey....UWOLERS are coming to Bristol no less. That's great! Well if I'm in the UK at that time...I'm be meeting you for a beer! Catherine Russell May 3rd, 2016, 05:27 PM Splendid guys, I'm looking forward to it.... especially the group photo! It will be a keeper for sure. Vishal Jadhav May 18th, 2016, 11:18 PM Hi , Any one knows where the Wildscreen event is organised, yes i see that they have a office address as King St, Bristol, Avon BS1 4DZ, United Kingdom. However is this the place the complete event is organised or is it only a office address. Thought of asking as someone here might know. Kevin Railsback May 19th, 2016, 04:26 AM The main venue is Watershed Watershed 1 Canons Road Harbourside Bristol BS1 5TX The Bristol Marriot Royal Hotel is right across the street which is where we are staying as well as several other UWOL'ers. It'll be nice to literally walk across the street and be at Wildscreen Vishal Jadhav May 20th, 2016, 02:12 AM Thanks Kevin Cees van Kempen July 15th, 2016, 04:39 AM Not only will I be at Wildscreen, I can now proudly announce that with my Kingfisher film I am nominated for the Emerging Talent Panda Award. Don't know yet what days I will be in Bristol. But if I have the chance I would like to catch up with you. And if you have the chance...go and see my film! Kevin Railsback July 15th, 2016, 05:41 AM Congrats! I'll make sure I try to catch it! Trond Saetre July 15th, 2016, 06:16 AM Cees van Kempen, congratulations! Would be cool to watch your film and meet you in Bristol. Geir Inge August 24th, 2016, 12:58 PM Hi folks. Due to unforeseen things I have to cancel my trip to Bristol in October. I've looked forward to meeting you and wish you all a pleasant week in Bristol. Cheers! Trond Saetre August 24th, 2016, 01:04 PM Sorry to hear that, Geir Inge. Hope all is well with you and your family. Everyone, it would be good to hear who plans to join us. So far I believe these are confirmed: Kevin, Hege, Vishal, Mick and myself Chris Hurd August 24th, 2016, 02:26 PM I'm sorry I cannot make it -- too much already going on in October. However, I would like to send some DVi swag to you guys. I could ship a box directly to the venue to someone's attention... Kevin or Trond perhaps. Trond Saetre August 24th, 2016, 02:38 PM Sorry you can't make it, Chris. Would have been nice to meet you too. Shipping to me or Kevin should be fine. We will be staying at the same hotel. Another option (depending of the size and weight of the package), would be to send it to one of us in advance. Kevin Railsback August 24th, 2016, 06:23 PM Either way works fine. Might be cheaper to ship to me in Iowa and I can throw it in my bag on the flight over Kevin Railsback August 24th, 2016, 06:24 PM Geir, Sorry you're not going to be able to make it. We will have a beer in your honor! :) Mick Jenner August 25th, 2016, 05:29 AM Chris, if you would rather send it in advance to a UK address rather than risk a hotel losing it I would be happy to receive and take it along as I will be there over the entire period. Mick Edit Sorry Kevin, missed your post about sending to you which is probably the best way if it does not put you over your weight allowance Chris Hurd August 25th, 2016, 06:37 AM Thanks fellows, this will be a few small NAB give-away items times the five or six of you. I'll look into the cost of shipping directly to Mick and if it's prohibitive then I'll ask Kevin for the cross-pond assist. I know how much of a premium luggage space can be for overseas travel though. Much appreciated, Kevin Railsback August 25th, 2016, 06:56 AM Whatever works best for you. I'm hoping to pack light this trip but we'll see how well that works out! 😀 Mick Jenner August 25th, 2016, 07:09 AM I say exactly that myself Kevin only my other half appears to think what weight I'm not carrying she can add to hers lol Kevin Railsback August 25th, 2016, 07:13 AM Trips to Montana I usually pack my big carbon fiber tripod with the Vinten head in my suitcase along with my heavy winter boots, parka etc. I usually end up paying the overweight fee as well as an additions bag fee when I check my drone. Hoping this is gonna be of a vacation than worrying about shooting any footage so I'll bring my little travel carbon fiber tripod and I don't think I need my boots that are made to work in the arctic circle! 😀 Mick Jenner August 25th, 2016, 07:33 AM Kevin, Ah, no arctic boots needed, just chest waders as the west country is renowned for its rain lol. I'll have all my gear with me so if you need anything just ask. Kevin Railsback August 25th, 2016, 07:51 AM Hopefully we'll have a couple days of sunshine! Debating what I want to bring for gear. Would love to do some low light sequences in the city if I get a chance Mick Jenner August 25th, 2016, 11:16 AM Being centred around the old harbour area you should get some lovely lovely night scenes with reflections off the the water from the nearby lite up buildings. Kevin Railsback August 25th, 2016, 11:22 AM Fantastic! I see some of the festival schedule came out today. Looks like some amazing films playing! Mick Jenner August 25th, 2016, 11:36 AM missed that release will have to look for it Vishal Jadhav August 26th, 2016, 06:49 AM Hi, Geir Inge , sorry to hear you are gonna miss it. I am currently applying for my VISA if that happens i am there. Is the schedule out for the week , i wasnt able to find it yet. Trond Saetre August 26th, 2016, 07:06 AM Hope it allworks all works out well with the visa, Vishal. Looking forward to see you. I haven't bought any tickets for the festival yet. I'll take it as it comes. Most important is to meet you guys, have a great time and hopefully do some filming while in Bristol too. It will be fun! Kevin Railsback August 26th, 2016, 09:11 AM Hard to believe we're only about 7 weeks away! Still time for more people to join us! Trond Saetre August 26th, 2016, 10:13 AM The more the better. It will be great! Mat Thompson September 8th, 2016, 07:53 AM Hi guys Well I'm just back from my third Zambia trip and now I go into a an edit in Bristol for 5 weeks!! Which means I will definitely be in the country and my importantly Bristol for Wildscreen. Keep me posted on the get together arrangements. It would be great to catch up! Mat Trond Saetre September 8th, 2016, 08:15 AM Looking forward to see you, Mat! Kevin Railsback September 13th, 2016, 07:24 AM That's great news Mat! Several of us are staying right across the street from Watershed Vishal Jadhav September 14th, 2016, 10:51 PM Finally i am in , got my Visa yesterday. Will be at The Clifton Hotel. Lets see who all are now going to come , list it out and may be make a communication group on Whatsapp or something similar, so that we can communicate with full group when there , may help only a suggestion. Very excited to be able to meet you all in person, also to meet Cees as he is my Inspiration . Just super excited. Trond Saetre September 14th, 2016, 11:42 PM Looking forward to see you, Vishal. The whatsapp group communication is a great idea. Vishal Jadhav September 15th, 2016, 02:08 AM Yes Trond, Since the schedule of the week is being released and updated we can decide on what all we would attend , it may be a hectic week and from the time i left my day job Hectic is a word thats been missing from all around :) All please check out the weeks program so that we can decide what all we want to attend from this Wildscreen Festival 2016 Programme (http://www.wildscreen.org/festival/2016-programme/) Trond Saetre September 15th, 2016, 11:50 AM Regarding the whatsapp idea, I believe we need each other's phone numbers. How about everyone email me through the forum with their numbers amd then I send a mail back to everyone of you with everyone's number? Or is there an easier way? Then we can make the group Vishal suggested. Notice: I am still waiting for Chris to give me the new password for the uwol email, so we can't use that one for now. Trond Saetre September 15th, 2016, 02:02 PM Another option would be to use facebook instead of whatsapp. What do you guys think? Vishal Jadhav September 16th, 2016, 12:52 AM Trond, Both may work depending upon how many use them . Mick Jenner September 16th, 2016, 09:12 AM Probably Facebook messenger best, assuming all attending will have internet access on their phone, tablet etc, Hotels will be ok for free wifi as well as the watershed and most other venues used. Not long now Trond Saetre September 16th, 2016, 02:00 PM Sure, we can use fb messenger. Whichever is best for you guys. Trond Saetre September 20th, 2016, 01:44 AM Mick, Vishal and Mat: Are you guys on facebook? If we should use facebook messenger for communication, how do I find you there, so I could set up a chat group? If anyone else is planning to join us in Bristol, please post it here. So far I have Kevin, Hege, Vishal, Mick and Mat on my list. |
