Filmmaker Eli Roth's new movie, "Knock Knock" was shot entirely with the Canon EOS 1DC. If you're planning a trip to Sundance this year you can attend his workshop and find out why they chose to go that direction. The workshop is called "Behind the Screams" and it looks like its on Sunday, January 25th, at 3pm.

There isn't a trailer yet for "Knock Knock". Here's a little article about the movie that includes some still frames.

I'm curious what people think the right price of the EOS 1DC should be? Whats its value to you as a filmmaker?

I think the 1DC needs to be priced very similar to the C100 Mark II. Somewhere in the $6,000 range IMO.

The 1DC's biggest problem for most filmmakers is lack of proper video camera controls and ergonomics. Their willing to work around these issues in exchange for a full frame sensor and 4k, but only if the price is competitive.

With the anticipation of a new C300 on the horizon and several fantastic options in the sub $10k price point, it just seems silly to spend $12k on a 1DC right now.
