Had a low priority story take place, thought I would shoot it in XAVC L in natural light, give the Clear Image zoom and Digital Extender a work-out. Set the camera to preset 3200k, and used my custom color calibrated ITU709 PP, which was calibrated on a 3200k light. Got laughed at by a stringer shooting 720p30 on an HPX370. :)

And yes, the SteadyShot function was turned off on this shot, and the wide angle converter was removed for full sharpness and clarity. YouTube ads a LOT of grain and noise to the original footage, even when uploaded as ProRes LT!

I know it's hard to tell from Youtube videos because you don't know how the footage was handled initially or what Youtube's influence was in the final compression but this example of low light footage seems like a fair indication of what you can get out of the camera. As yet I haven't tried any city night work like this but it seems pretty decent for a camera that comes in under $3K. Only a couple of years back most us us would have killed for a camera with this capability for the price.
