Has anyone noticed that you can push the ISO to higher levels in manual mode than any of the auto modes? It's as if it's limited not to go above a certain level but scouring the menus I can find no way to see or even change this - any ideas?

You can set a maximum ISO for auto modes, but as with many things in sony's interface it's not particularly obvious how to do it. Here's a video someone posted that shows how to get to the setting:
