Paulo Teixeira December 27th, 2014, 03:41 AM Manuel Painting an Azores seascape - YouTube He haven't painted in years so we decided that we should make a video of him painting again and see how it goes. Here's the outcome. All of the timelapse parts were shot with the Panasonic AC90. The part with him singing and talking about the painting were shot with the LX100. Paulo Teixeira December 28th, 2014, 02:49 AM I basically took a native clip off that card and uploaded to YouTube. Shot in 3840x2160p30. Shutter of 30, Aperture of around f/1.7 at it's widest and it obviously changed a bit when I zoomed it. Auto focus was at auto. I was sort of looking at the settings on the camera while shooting which wasn't the brightest idea. I really should have practiced a bit shooting with the camera handheld before I shot this. Anyway, does anyone know what I need to do in order to see my adjustments live on the screen? It works if I hit record first but I want to see my adjustments live before I hit record. The range is 24-75mm in stills mode. In video mode it is about 26-82mm. Charles W. Michael Kraus January 1st, 2015, 10:50 AM The camera looks like a good B-Cam for my purposes, how does the zoom lens compare to a APS-C Sensor like a 550D, would the zoom range be similar to my 550D with the 24 - 70 I have or will it have a slighter longer range because of the crop? The crop on your 550D makes your focal lengths longer. The 24-75mm (26-82mm in 4K mode) on the lx100 are adjusted for their 35mm equivalent. The actual focal length of the lx100 lens is more like a 10-30mm or something. Matt Thomas January 3rd, 2015, 04:18 AM Oh ok, so even though it's 24mm - 75mm for 35mm equivalent, it doesn't take the crop of the Micro-four thirds factor like a GH4 would do with my 24 - 70mm. Paulo Teixeira January 3rd, 2015, 04:16 PM Paulo, if you haven't found it yet, go to Custom Settings > Constant Preview > ON. Thanks although I actually ended up finding out on my own by accident. I was looking for something else in the menu and saw something that might resolve the issue I was having and after I set it to on, presto! That's good because I would have had such a big headache trying to record a lot of things in Sao Miguel, Azores and having to record first to see how my adjustments are and then go back and delete those parts in order to not have too much junk on the card. Paulo Teixeira January 3rd, 2015, 04:27 PM Here's a couple of New Year's videos I shot. This first one shows what was going on before midnight struck. Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal - New Year's Eve/ Day 2014/2015 - Part 1 - YouTube This one has the main fireworks event. Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal - New Year's Eve/ Day 2014/2015 - Part 2 (fireworks) - YouTube A third video was supposed to be uploaded by now but an adapter I was using for my laptop decided to stop working. I guess that'll have to be uploaded some other time. I'm also shooting videos of the scenery in different places with that camera. I'm still getting shots and that should be uploaded after I get back to the US. Michael Kraus January 11th, 2015, 03:41 PM I have some videos up on Vimeo that will later be part of a longer review. Paulo Teixeira January 19th, 2015, 09:28 AM Here's a bunch of random shots I took while i was in in Sao Miguel, Azores earlier this month. Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal - 2015 - in 4K !!! - YouTube Rohan Dadswell January 19th, 2015, 08:27 PM Liking the pictures out of the LX100 but the 15min record limit in 4K has meant that it's no good for half of my stuff (interviews & concerts) - annoying that Panasonic crippled a good little camera. Mark Rosenzweig January 20th, 2015, 08:23 AM Liking the pictures out of the LX100 but the 15min record limit in 4K has meant that it's no good for half of my stuff (interviews & concerts) - annoying that Panasonic crippled a good little camera. The limit is indeed a drawback, but Panasonic didn't "cripple" the camera as if they were conspiring to protect their pro cameras or something: it is an overheating issue resulting from keeping the camera small and compact and allowing 100Mbps given the limitations of current technology. The tiny Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 10-minute limitation for 4K video for exactly the same reason (even though a lower bitrate). Peer Landa January 20th, 2015, 08:29 AM The limit is indeed a drawback, but Panasonic didn't "cripple" the camera as if they were conspiring to protect their pro cameras or something So again, does anyone know if the Leica Typ-109 indeed has a 30 minutes limit..? -- peer Tom Roper January 20th, 2015, 04:51 PM Sounds like the type 109 also has a 15 minute limit from linked discussion below.
