Ended up purchasing the Shark Slider from Camera Motion Research located in N.C. Should be here in a couple of days. They gave a $25 discount.

Any reason as to why they gave you a $25 dollar discount?

I posted a question to users on another forum and they read it. I guess they want my business.

Arrived today. Very high quality materials and construction. Very quiet. Much, much smoother slides than my other sliders. Will be testing it out next week.

anything further on this slider? Looking at it myself ...

How do you think a Sony EX1R would do using it?

It's awesome. I've got half a dozen. Love em. Should be fine on the EX1. Buy it and don't look back.

After using the Shark slider for a little over two months I am still loving it. I got mine from the only U.S. distributor Shark Slider (http://www.camotionllc.com/shark-slider-a-108.html). Fast shipping and I have yet to have any need for support. I hear there are some intimations out there so beware.

Have seen a few imitations (I think) .... Gear Contact is where I have been looking ..... its a direct link through iFootage

Can this be flat mounted to a tripod without a head ?...
