I own a 1Dc and love the image of this camera but feel very frustrated that Canon seem unwilling or incapable of adding new features.
The extended DR with log is great but very tricky to expose correctly without a waveform monitor.
How hard could it be to implement this via firmware?
Magic Lantern have implemented waveform and a hundred other great features working on a range of other Canon DSLRs that don’t have any thing like the processing power of the 1Dc.

It seems like a no-brainer that Canon would sell far more 1Dc cameras and a lot of lenses as a consequence if they would just add some decent features like waveform, peaking, zebras and perhaps full quality 1080 50-60fps in s35 mode.
It seems that canon are just not prepared to be innovative with the 1Dc.
Perhaps the managers in charge of that division are disinterested in looking after customers who spent a lot of money on this camera.
The idea that Canon are hobbling the 1Dc to protect other product lines seems more irrelevant every day as camera technology moves on.

Yesterday Canon dropped the price on the 1DC -- now selling for $9,999 at B&H. This might indicate a new 1DC model in the pipe -- who knows, maybe we'll see a 10-bit 1DC-2 already at Photokina..?
