I have been continuing to have issues with the Micon connectors in the Rode lavalier not being reliable, even when tightened down. I replaced both the micon cable and the senn micon connector, and strangely I've been having more trouble with the new micon connector than the old one.

I'm thinking about selling my kit with two Rode Lavs, 3 extensions, and connectors for g3 and XLR because it's just not reliable enough for me.

But then I had an idea: what if I just soldered a good quality sennheiser connector on to a Rode Micon. The Micon connection by the mic itself has never given me trouble, it's just the connector to the belt pack that has problems because it experiences tangential stresses in the talent's pocket.

But frankly even though I can solder myself I don't like doing it with very small wires like lav cables. I don't even know if the Rode cables are solderable, so thought I'd ask if anyone has tried. Frankly I think I'm most likely just going to sell these.

Nevermind. I just decided to sell these and listed them on ebay.

It is not clear from your account that the mic heads themselves (or the Micon adapters) may be faulty and not the connectors or cable? I have had no problems with mine.
