Hi Guys

I made a neat little switching box for Church ceremonies where I run the groom's lav mic straight into Channel 1 XLR and then my lav on the readings lectern goes into the switching box and I have a toggle switch between the shotgun mic on the front camera and the lectern mic going into Channel 2.

The problem is that my receivers are self powered so whilst the lectern mic is on the Channel 2 audio selector on the camera needs to be on mic as it doesn't need phantom power ..however when the lectern mic is unoccupied I switch back to the shotgun that DOES need phantom power which means I have to not only flip the toggle back but firstly switch the camera channel back to mic +48 volts and, of course the reverse when I need to go back to the lectern. So far I have been lazy and just leave the switch at mic +48v and so far it hasn't destroyed the 2nd receiver. Often you just don't have time to do both (or forget!)

Has anyone else run wireless receivers into a phantom input and is there any other way to overcome the issue???

I tried my 3 x Sennheiser G3 receivers into an H4n with and without phantom power a few weeks ago and it didn't seem to matter n.b. the G3's do not need phantom power. However this rather alarming post has recently appeared on DVX:

You may be able to take something away from that.
