I have an xa20. I have the file numbering set on continuous but my file numbers start over whenever I initialize the card. Haven't tried the reset setting but I think continuous is what I want, it just isn't acting the way I think it should.
Any of you have any words of wisdom for me? My firmware is current.

Are you recording MP4 or AVCHD?

The manual (on page 147) implies that the file numbering settings appy to photos and MP4.

AVCHD numbering will likely be continuous from the highest existing recording number on a card and restart on a new or initialized card.

Makes sense as I'm recording AVCHD. Thanks for the response...
