Jody Arnott April 9th, 2014, 01:35 AM Great news: HD Warrior Blog Archiv Great news for JVC GY-HM600/650 owners…”FW v3 50Mbps” (http://www.hdwarrior.co.uk/2014/04/08/great-news-for-jvc-gy-hm650-owners-fw-v3-50mbps/)
50Mbps recording @50/60p after a free firmware update in May. Very happy about this!

Do you have a link for the 50/60p?
Jody Arnott April 10th, 2014, 08:29 PM The link I posted above:
"“The virtually lossless 50Mbps XHQ 60p recording mode is commonly found in DSLRs, and we’re pleased to add it to our 600 Series cameras"
Michael Warren April 10th, 2014, 08:36 PM Thanks. I don't know how I missed that. I skim-read it twice. :)
Anyway, that is good news, especially after JVC said said they wouldn't be able to add 50p/60p to the 600/650.
Jody Arnott April 16th, 2014, 05:06 AM JVC just updated their website with the new features:
Large file size support with SDXC card
50Mbps H.264 Extreme High Quality mode (XHQ)
Live transmission (streaming) w/advanced Zixi error correction—650 only
1080/60p recording capability
.MOV (Final Cut Pro)
Compatible with ProHD Broadcaster and Cloud server —650 only
Jody Arnott May 20th, 2014, 03:49 PM FYI, this update is now available:
JVC GY-HM600U Firmware v3.0 (http://pro.jvc.com/pro/attributes/CAMERA/soft/gyhm600u_firmware_v3.0.html)
Ty Ford May 28th, 2014, 05:59 AM No love from the update for my 650. The camera won't take the upgrade file.
I get all the way down to "Put in the card". I put it in #2. Brief red flash, then green on outside status light.
Then nothing.
Instructions say a blank SDHC card. I tried a card erased in my mac and when that didn't work, I formatted it in the camera and tried again.
There are 600 and 601 files in the download, but no 650 file. Is that the problem?
Still at 0205

And the 3.0 update but for the 650E:
JVC GY-HM650E Firmware v3.0 (http://www.service.jvcpro.eu/public/document.cfm?prog=ProdSoft.cfm&Model=GY-HM650E)
And finally the 3.0 for the 600E:
JVC GY-HM600E Firmware v3.0 (http://www.service.jvcpro.eu/public/document.cfm?prog=ProdSoft.cfm&Model=GY-HM600E)
Ty Ford May 28th, 2014, 02:25 PM Thanks Peter,
Every page I saw said 600/650 but only took you to the 600 sites. I finally called the place I bought the 650 and they had the 650 firmware link on their site.
PS: 600 firmware won't work on a 650.
Regards,
Ty Ford
Yvo Haex July 15th, 2014, 04:02 PM There stands for GY-HM600 a new Firmware V 3.1 at JVC. Can find no change in menus, what things are the adjustments?
Petter Flink July 16th, 2014, 10:57 AM The 3.0.1 firmware seems to be a maintenance update according to the JVC download page.
For the 650E:
Maintenance update. Add new features (e.g. AF Speed menue, Add RTP/RTSP and Zixi into Live Streaming Type.......)
JVCPro-MSIS (http://www.service.jvcpro.eu/public/document.cfm?prog=ProdSoft.cfm&Model=GY-HM650E)
For the 600E:
Maintenance update. Add new features (e.g. AF Speed menue..)

David Luigi July 17th, 2014, 01:12 PM Yesterday on JVC download page was firmware 3.01. Today is just update firmware 3.0. Is something wrong with firmware 3.01?
David Fox July 25th, 2014, 09:14 AM Version 3.03 firmware has appeared on the download page now !
Bit too early to expect even more functionality, seems to just be fixes.
Also v5 of 'LST1424-001D-M.pdf' User Manual is available, at least in English, presumably including some of the recently added functions.
Ara Hollisian September 25th, 2015, 09:42 AM Does anyone know if you can go back to the previous firmware version? I have the 600u and currently have v. 0400. My SD files are not compatible with my NLE which is Edius 6.08. HD files are fine and JVC has no fix at this time. Also does anyone have a link to the previous version which I think is 0306? Thanks.
