As I've long suspected Canon have just released news of a Cine Servo Lens with a useful focal length of 17-120mm.

This is great news. It will look great on C500, C300 and C100.

Now I wonder how much this will cost?

Ah - Lottery money . . . . . it's going out for $33,000

I'll have 2! Who needs to own a car anyway when I can have a 30k lens.

We're already getting calls on it so we've started a list. We should have solid pricing and availability info very soon and I'll post it.

Hi Jim,

Be interesting to know what kind of customers will be splashing out on this lens, I guess highly successful owner operators or rental houses.

It really looks a fabulous lens

I had been anticipating something more like the Sony-SCL-Z18X140-High-power-Zoom-14x-Lens-for-PMW-F3 which in the US would probably retail for about $8,000.

I look forward to seeing how folks get on with the new Zacuto servo unit - but even that's around $5k.

Just got the info......$31,350.00 availability in August.......

Mark, yes the rental companies and C300 & C500 owner operators will be getting them. It has a little better range, apparently little or no "breathing", and less money than the Cabrios....
