View Full Version : Can't remember freelancing site name.
Patrick Janka February 12th, 2014, 05:06 PM Hi, I saw someone had posted in one of the forums a site for freelance camera people to register for work. The name was something like OneManOneCam.com. The color of the site was solid red. Does anyone know the site to which I'm referring? Thanks.
Josh Bass February 13th, 2014, 02:48 AM I'd be interested as well.
Noa Put February 13th, 2014, 02:55 AM Not solid red but maybe they changed color :) this is one I know of: http://www.peopleperhour.com/freelance/cameraman#scroll=0
Matt Thomas February 13th, 2014, 12:55 PM People Per Hour is best one I've found for UK based jobs, but Freelancer also as a lot of jobs on.
Chris Hurd February 13th, 2014, 01:11 PM Would you be interested in having that sort of feature here on this site?
Art Varga February 13th, 2014, 02:40 PM I've used this service- not for video but I do see they have listings in that category
https://www.elance.com/
Patrick Janka February 14th, 2014, 12:52 PM Thank you for the response, Noa, but that's not it. It was something similar to this: Directory of Camera Operators | Register (http://www.globalshooters.tv/register), but it had a red background.
Chris, there is already a Helping Hands section, so I'm not sure what you were asking.
Patrick Janka February 14th, 2014, 12:54 PM Art, I signed up for elance a while ago, took a couple of test certifications, watched the tutorials, etc. I'm just not to keen on the bidding structure. Every ad I look at has a whole page of people bidding on the project, and many of them are from underdeveloped countries, which to me means they'll work for far less than I will. Also, a lot of the video jobs seem to focus on motion graphics/animation.
Matt Thomas February 14th, 2014, 03:40 PM Yeah I don't like elancer, never really any freelance videographer jobs in the UK.
Josh Bass February 14th, 2014, 03:48 PM Maybe he means something more formal, like an active database of shooters/whatever organized by city? Helping hands are just forum posts that like any other can get quickly buried.
Patrick Janka February 15th, 2014, 12:11 PM That would definitely be cool, Josh. Anyhow, I found the site I was talking about: Man With a Cam - Nationwide Production Staffing for Corporate Videos, Educational Videos, Fashion Videos, Industrial Videos, Medical Video, Legal Videos, Interview Videos, Event Videos and more. Anywhere, anytime. (http://www.manwithacam.org/)
There's a link to join the team around the middle of the page.
Josh Bass February 15th, 2014, 04:45 PM Thanks. Merely being listed on as many places as possible raises one's profile so even if you never get a call. . .
