Trying to create a “thought bubble” to appear over the head of someone speaking -- indicating what they are really thinking and not what they are saying.

Anyone know of a veg file or method out there for creating this quickly – something in which I can type in text?

Pretty much what I did -- that is, create in photoshop -- import into Vegas...

Hi James,

Once you make one you like in Vegas, you can always use the imported timeline feature to avoid creating it over and over, just add the text over the bubble in the main timeline.

I always liked the thought bubble with a number or decreasing sized circles leading to the head, revealing each over time starting with the smallest. A cloud shape is also cool for the actual thought bubble.

Just some thoughts....

The one time I did thought bubbles I did as posted above with creating a bubble in a graphics program and adding the text on a higher layer.

I added a "pop" sound for the whole Pop-up video thing.

Sean, sorry I missed your question...yes, the objects were all stills (purchased for $1 from istockphoto.com, genius site). I made the bubble in Photoshop and added Gaussian blur to the layer in FCP. And yes, as you guessed, having the gal walk in front was a painful rotoscoping job--I'm not proficient in AE so I exported to Photoshop and then brought it back in to FCP. It's actually a pretty hack job but it got the job done. My hat is off to those who do this full-time...!
