Hi All,

So I'm upgrading my JVC GYHD110 (which is now for sale BTW) to a Canon XA10.

I have a few accessories - well, OK, a very bright light! that has a P-TAP (I believe that's the correct name? It plugs into a batteries4broadcast battery or the side of the HD110). But there's no such connector on the XA10 if I'm not mistaken (don't have the XA10 yet).

Is there a way to power the light with the XA10? Maybe with a special battery, or a 'battery pack'?

Thanks :)

I suspect you're thinking of D Tap ?

You can see PAG batteries and adaptors so equipped on their website .

Thanks - maybe it is called D-TAP. I have a little 12 volt battery 'belt' was hoping to maybe power it from there (it has a cig lighter plug on it). Don't know if I can justify spending the $300 or more for that setup! :)

I've made a couple of different patch cables to power D tap accessories from cig adapter and 4 pin adapter power supplies. B&H sells male and female D tap connectors seperately, pick up some wire and I found cig and 4 pin plugs at Bescor (used to sell them don't know if they still do maybe B&H has them). A little soldering BAM....Patch cords. I've run all kinds of D tap accessories including a camera off of 12 volt Bescor batteries...Anton Bauer Ultra light, JVC HD100/110/200, other lights on light stands...
Do a little searching around I think you'll find the connectors you need.
