Hi all,

This is my first post here and I wanted to introduce myself.

I've taken up Videography as a hobby (for now, who knows where it will lead?) mainly for the purpose of documenting my favorite hobby and that is drag racing. I and many I know put alot of money, time and effort into this pursuit. Most of what I had seen on the "Sportsman" level in the way of video has been hand held, shaky and poorly composed. But I can't fault the average fan as merely being able to see the events is what is most important.

But being formally schooled in still photography and having worked as a combat photographer among other things (and a bit of a perfectionist to boot), I want more, especially of my own efforts.

So I obtained a Canon XL1s, a Bogen/Manfrotto tripod and a few other things and I've started to learn this fascinating, often difficult skill.

I'm very eager to learn and I'm always open to input from anyone and it will ALWAYS be appreciated.

Looking forward to benefitting from your wisdom,

Ken Vaughn

Hi Ken,

Hey, sorry it took so long for the Welcome Wagon to arrive! Welcome to the neighborhood!

What's that about you being a combat photographer? Sounds interesting (and dangerous).
