I had the groom mic'd up as per usual for vows. I also put an other recorder on the lecturn. The priest in this one though decided that he needed to do various elements of the service from four different platforms.
Its a very big old church. the reverb is shocking, even in the instances wheres he's only a meter away from the recorder.

So, can I do anything to clear it up at all??

You could try using a subtle gate to cut the reverb down.

One would have to take it easy the settings as you may end up having very choppy audio.

It is very hard to remove natural reverb but this may help some.

For years the answer was that you really can't remove reverberation - but izotrope seems to be pretty good at the maths - and really does work. The only factor is the price.

Not sure how much Izotope is ($300?) but there's also a plugin called Zynaptiq unveil that does the same thing. I believe it's also $300. Free demo available.

It's not perfect but does a reasonable job for the price.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the info on the plug ins. I could use them myself from time to time.

I love technology the way it keeps coming up with new remedies for old problems.

I went through this process a couple of months ago, and ended up trying countless different programs to try and remove echo from some dialog. The only program that worked (and actually worked well) was Izotope RX3 Advanced.

It's not cheap, but does come with a fully featured trial version that you can use.
