View Full Version : My biggest gripe with my new BMCC

is that in bright sunlight (I live in Arizona so expect bright sunlight 355 days a year!) I can't see anything in the screen but reflections of what's in back of me. Nothing! Nada!

Totally useless. I don't feel like springing for an external viewfinder just yet but I do feel silly using the dark cloth from my 8 x 10 film camera!

Any thoughts re something that won't break the bank???

I don't have a BMCC, but I've wondered if those adhesive anti-glare screens for monitors would work.

Anti Glare helps a tiny bit. But this is really what you have to do for outside:

Love it, Chris. Great stuff. I'm a Pocket Cinema Camera (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CWLSHUK?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B00CWLSHUK&linkCode=xm2&tag=din0a-20) guy, so I am able to use one of these $15 LCD shades, but you've given me some ideas for how to attach an eyepiece to it :)

Shocker - it worked! Best view of the BMPCC (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CWLSHUK?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creativeASIN=B00CWLSHUK&linkCode=xm2&tag=din0a-20) LCD screen I've had yet. Makes manual focus a breeze. Can't wait to try it outside. Thanks for the idea, Chris!

So much about being a "pocket" camera!

A lot more pocketable than this :)

I can break mine down and put all of the pieces in my pocket (to include the body). No camera bag required :)

That looks pretty workable to me. Reminds me of one the old super 8 cams.

This is probably a witless comment but here goes. Would polaroid sunglasses assist in some instances? ( Please punch me down gently. )

Well, maybe if you could rotate the lenses...

Or tip your head 90 degrees to the side.

I think I'm going to make up one of the sunshades along the lines that Chris did. Or just keep using the dark cloth from my 8 x 10 film camera even though it looks wonky as hell!
