Hello all. I am shooting a wedding with a dslr and a video rode mic. I will be placing my zoom and lav on the groom. My question is how far away from the action can I be and still allow the audio to be captured so that when I go to sync it with plural eyes it will do so. I was told that you need some type of audio stamp for the plural eyes to work. I have used it before and it works great, however if I want to move around the wedding during ceremony I still want the camera to capture audio for it to later get synced.

Also, do you guys place the zoom on auto or manual when trying to get audio from groom, bride and pastor? I usually like manual for interviews but wanted to know since I am trying to get all three voices. And if not auto should it be set manually at 65? Thanks in advance.

If your'e inside I think you can set it to auto gain, if the bride is quiet it might help pick her up. you should have no problem moving around anywhere as long as you can hear the celebrant, the camera will record that audio and plural eyes should match up. Beware using different types of recorders, they can drift so over time they will not match and pluraleyes will have problems.

Pluraleyes needs something to work on from the dSLR so beware of shooting clips that are only a few seconds long as there may not be enough audio data for PE to work its magic on. Then you wind up with a bunch of unsyncable clips at the end which you have to do manually. Try shooting the clips for longer than you otherwise would as a precaution.

Auto on the H1 should be OK, even preferable as mentioned in your previous thread.
