Hi-
Love to hear which ones you are using, and if you use two tripod supports... How it's worked, cautionary tales, etc. Considering purchasing, but not sure how to include the weights, what to watch out for, etc. Thanks in advance.

I've become a big fan of the Dana Dolly lately. Option of using speed rail makes variable lengths very do-able. Can use PVC if it's going on a flat surface (as opposed to going between two stands.) Works fine for all weights of cameras - and can adapt for a variety of ball mounts. Quicker, easier setup than the cam-tran system (which I also like.)

I think you'll find two supports is mandatory. I worked with a 30" slider and an EX1r a couple times and I think the weight of an EX3 plus a head worthy of holding an EX3 hanging off the end of a slider would put a lot of force on whatever head you are using to hold the slider. I also found a monopod as a second support wasn't stable enough either.

Another vote for the Dana Dolly. I've had mine about 3 or 4 years and it's a great tool to have.
Get some aluminum pipes for rails because they are a lot more rigid than PVC. The whole rig, with pipes and stands cost my less than $1K.
