Have to ask: any specials based on C300, other CN-E lenses or similar ownership?

Eric-
There are many deals going now until Jan. 4th that involve lenses bought with the C100/300/500 will get you money off the camera and the lenses...also, if you buy 3, 4, or 5 Cine primes, you get $900, $1600, or $2500 off when purchased on the same invoice. What camera and lens combo are you looking for?

I wasn't clear. I've already purchased a C300 and 4 CN-E lenses, wondering if there was a loyalty deal like there was with the other lenses., I just want the 35mm. Thanks.

Ther is a loyalty rebate for those who have registered their camera with Canon.....$500 off any CN lens...but the problem is, Canon has not included the 35mm in the program...and I suspect, with the program slated to end at the beginning of January, the lenses might not arrive in time. Will Canon extend the program and include the 35mm? I don't know but I do know Canon wants to sell a lot of Cine lenses, both primes and zooms.

There are no promotions for the 35mm Cinema Prime that Canon has announced.

If that changes, we honor any promo offered and adjust your order price prior to shipping. I have been told that we'll start shipping the the 35mm in a few weeks.

We can pre-approve Canon Leases if you apply online using the link below:

Curious if anyone knows whether the new 35mm is based on the "old" (current) 35mm 1.4L EF lens or the "new" (unannounced) 35mm 1.4L II for which canon published a patent back in March. Nothing in the canon literature mentions this.

While I'm really happy with both the 85mm and the 24mm cinema lenses, which are both newer designs, the 50mm (which is an older design) isn't a particularly great lens in comparison.

Hey Terry,

I was wondering if you know the answer to the question I posted earlier...regarding the design of the cn-e 35mm relative to the older(current) / newer(patent info speculation) versions of the 35mm 1.4 L?

Hi Barry,

from what i've read the Cinema Prime lenses are not the same lenses at the L series glass.

Interesting. All I've ever heard is that they are essentially the same designs, with cine mechanicals, an 11 blade iris, and possibly new coatings. Not necessarily a bad thing, except in the case of the 50 which is showing its age (and my cn-e 50mm seems to have all the same issues as my 50mm L). I seem to remember canon spokesmen saying as much, but I can't find anything in the literature.
