Sony Alpha a3000 Camera | Alpha a3000 Camera with 18-55mm Lens Review | ILCE3000K/B | Sony USA (http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666597724)
For $400 you get the camera and a kit lens which fits the EA-50.....What more could you ask for in terms of value you get and price!!!
You know that in 4-5 months this is going to be way under $400.00 and even more affordable given the price cut on the EA-50.
What do you think???

with that price, seems very good, the downside i found is it won't do 60p
but hey, with that price...

The 18-55 e-mount lens is around $200, for another $200 you get the camera and the lens.....those kind of dollars make sense!
Both the EA50 and A3000 can shoot 24p, so they can be matched with a common format. I've posted some 24p video in my video teasers in prior posts. I can't see a downside to it all.
Will be working up a budget to buy one in the future.

Really like the fact it's "SLR" styled. Wouldn't be suprised if they release a model with 60p capabilities.
You can look at this one as the NEX 5 ... and wait for the NEX 5N "SLR Body" version soon.

I think the NEX 3/5/7's are gonna be a better b-cam as they use the same sensor... the A3000 use a new 20.1 mp sensor...
Just got a NEX-3N, trying it out tonight!

Problem with the NEX 3/5/6/7 etc is the fact they overheat very quickly. Everytime I use them they shutdown themselves. You can only use them for quick/short clips. So may be leave it permanently attached to a slider while you work the room with your A cam.

I've used the NEX-3N in a hot venue and it managed to film the entire show that was over an hour (with a break in the middle, but probably 2x40 minutes, without it shutting down... I shut of recording at times to get around the max 29 minutes thing though... But that is all... It was on a tripod. But also managed to film an entire show with the NEX C3 handheld once...
