I want to use someone's 5 minute slideshow as the main menu background for a DVD of a band concert I'm producing, and I have no idea what a fair price would be. The concert is the finale of a week-long band camp, and the slideshow is being put together by one of the camp counselors who dabbles in photography. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just heard from the photographer--she wants $5 per DVD. (120 DVDs were ordered.). I was thinking $50 total with a credit on the DVD and maybe a complimentary copy of the DVD. Anyone have any thoughts at all?

I would go with what you've suggested, a one of payment and credit on the DVD, rather than $5 per dvd ...
Which seems a bit excessive.

I'd skip the slide show and use a different background. Either that or pull some frame grabs from your video and use them instead. If they go for $50 then maybe that saves you the time and effort, but $50 is a long way off from what they've asked for. I'd have a quick and easy backup plan ready to go.

James, thanks for responding. We're so far apart that I'm sort of hesitant to give my counter-offer..
