I've been offered a Sony FS100 at a very good price but it has 57x10 hours on the clock.

Is that good or bad? and does it even matter if the general cosmetic condition of the camcorder is fine?

Asking because with cars people always say ... higher the mileage, the more wary you should be. Make sure it's serviced etc.

Do these camcorders have service intervals?

570 hours on the clock on a camera with no moving parts. If it was a tape camera I'd say it's got low mileage, as a solid state camera, if there's nothing else wrong with it and it looks right and the price is right, buy it!

All I wanted to know, thanks!

If I do buy this FS100, the EA50 will have to go!
