Folks
Been out of the editing scene for 5 years. Long story. Had pretty crappy set-up those years ago.
Getting a bespoke PC built for me presently to run Media Composer 6.5 (soon to be 7, of course).
I have a huge project from Xpress DV that needs to be transferred to MC. Will be finished in HDV of course and will inevitably have mixed and matched media on the one timeline.
The bins on my old Xpress PC are full of clips which I believe are easy to transfer. But will MC instantly and easily recognise my old project in terms of all the edits, captions, audio mixes, fades etc. I'll re-render all the work on the timeline obviously and up-res the SD footage once up and running, adding better FX and colour grading etc.
But I need the old project to just play "as it was" in Xpress DV on MC, so I can simply plug it in, switch on, transfer and resume the project as I left it!
Tips?
Thanks and regards...
