I have a inter-frame / intra-frame question.

The BBC requires a of minimum of 50Mbs inter-frame or 100Mbs intra-frame.

I've read the GH3 will record 72Mbs intra-frame... but after hacking will the camera record 100Mbs intra-frame or more?

Also, can it be hacked to record 50Mbs inter-frame.

Thanks...

The GH3 already records 50mb/s interframe as a .mov, as well as the 72 intraframe - no need to hack.

Last I heard the BBC specs 422, & the GH3 only records 420.

Quick question before I order my memory card for it - what do you guys recommend that can deal with 72mbps? Under SDXC I see class 10 cards, 64GB, for about $100. Will those be enough or do I need to spend more (i.e. Sandisk Extreme 45 MB/s)?

EDIT: Ordered it already since the online store would have closed in 40 minutes, and I need it asap for a wedding on saturday. Ordered the Sandisk Extreme 45MB/s as I found it at a good price ($117 shipping included), will get back to you after I test it on the GH3 with the highest birate possible! Should be good enough, right? Considering the card does 45 MB/s and the camera records at 72 Mb/s (9 MB/s).

The GH3 already records 50mb/s interframe as a .mov, as well as the 72 intraframe - no need to hack.

I think we do. 72 is not nearly enough for for all-intra. For GH2 they were using 200. Basically all-intra needs a lot more bandwidth.

72 intra sometimes doesn't look as good as 50 inter.
