This is trick to fix those white balance errors during a sunrise, but it involves using video rather than stills to shoot the timelapse. If you enable Protune you can lock your white balance, then chose your effective timelapse frame in post (CineForm Studio supports this.) I would shoot 1080p24 Protune CAM_RAW for timelapse on Silver, then color correct to the look you want.

David, the blog entry has been most inspirational. One thing is unclear for me though. There is a talk about frame averaging that I want to understand better. If I follow the procedure (with CineForm) step by step I can get similar time-blur effect fine, but dealing with different frame count does not cut it so well.
So could you explain how to produce frame averaging(10 frames into 1 or 15 into 1) even with AE alone. Or maybe there is a plugin that does this. Also I think there is a correlation with speed up (X) times and output frame rate to get 180 deg shutter.
I am not too new to video, but these terms are not clear to me still.
