View Full Version : Gear ring for 18-200 kit lens?

I have Redrock gear rings for all of my lenses. The problem with using one on the 18-200 kit lens is becaus there is no hard stop, and because i sometimes go back and forth between manual and temp auto, the place where the ring connects stops the follow focus. What I need is a piece of flexible gear ring that can fit on the lens and allow the focus ring to turn beyond the constraints of the typical gear rings.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Bruce,

You may want to check out indiSYSTEMs. They have a range of snap-gears that I've been using.

This budget setup worked well for me until I sold the kit lens and replaced it with a brace of Zeiss Contax prime lenses and a Metabones 'Speed Booster': Sony VG20 custom '3 point' Porta-Rig on Vimeo

Thanks , Junior.
I just ordered one for the 18-200 kit lens, which is ( after measuring), their 75mm ring. Once I get it and make sure it works, I'll order one for each of my other lenses.
