Have a new macbook pro laptop with two thunderbolt ports and no firewire. They sold me Apple Thunderbolt to Firewire Adapter MD464ZM/A B&H Photo Video (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/885718-REG/Apple_md464zm_a_Thunderbolt_to_Firewire_Adapter.html/c/product/#inpage:IN+STOCK#inpage:Free+Shipping+%28USA%29) which is Firewire 800, I know I can get an adapter and daisy chain it all, but I didn't know if anyone has other solutions.

Thanks in advance.

You can get a 4 pin to 9 pin (firewire 800) cable.
I'm not sure what other solution you'd expect.
There's also 6 pin to 9 pin and 9pin to 9pin firewire cables.
I don't think it would make economic sense to make anything other than 9pin to Thunderbolt as both 4 and 6 pin can go to it with proper cable.

Thanks.... I'm not surprised Apple didn't make the cable, I've never viewed them as expansive in their tech offerings.

Got the firewire 800 to 400pin cable (ebay). That worked like a charm. Although, capturing video with a mac/FCPX after 10 years of pc/vegas......well, I feel like I'm cheating on a long term girlfriend or something..... please tell me this new relationship is just as good. :}
