Hello and thanks in advance for any help you can provide me.

Have a client who needs to shoot a time lapse sequence of some men installing a piece of machinery. To be shot indoors at night with florescent room lighting.

I have access to the Nikon D7000 but it has a limit of 999 frames before you have to restart. I will not be there to do that. Setting the camera and leaving. Coming back in the AM to remove. Repeat the next night for three nights.

Does the Canon 5D series have a similar limitation and what is it?

Thanks

5D does not have a built in intervalometer. But the external one I use does allow unlimited frames.

Thanks for the reply.

That being the case, I wonder if the D7000 would take unlimited frames of controlled from the outside. I would think it would.

That is tough to test! Maybe somebody in the Nikon camp will know.

If you have never done a timelapse before I would do some searching on the web for techniques. I found a forum or two that is dedicated to the practice. One big thing is to rotate your lens so the iris is engaged open. This eliminates the possibility of strobing between shots. Pick your aperature, press the lens release button and twist the lens but stop before it releases.
