I have found some unexpected problems with footage I shot with my FS700 and wonder if the camera settings at the time are recorded with the footage?

If so, how do I access them?

They are BUT you will have to pay Sony for the applications to access them.

You will need the Sony Content Manager AND the Advanced Pack add-on.

Partner Products: Content Manager (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/contentmanager)
Partner Products: XDCAM Advanced Pack for Content Browser and XDCAM Browser (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/xdcamadvpack)

You could also try "EXIF-tool" by Phil Harvey (Mac, PC, Linux):
ExifTool by Phil Harvey (http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/)

It's free, and in simplest form, you name the executable file "exiftool(-a -u -g1 -w txt).exe", and then drag & drop your AVCHD file on it. It will create a text file with some / most of the relevant EXIF from the FS700, or any other file with EXIF in it for that matter. The two caveats are that the shutter speed is only correct at 30p and 60i, and if the FS700 is set to ISO mode, EXIF-tool shows the closest equivalent gain, as opposed to the actual ISO. But it works well for the price of $0, and may be all you need...

Of course, if you are just looking for basic shooting data, the simplest method is to just play the clip on the camera. Pressing the data code button cycles through time/date and basic shooting data, including ISO, which is what I think you were concerned about in your original post.
