Hi All - can anyone recommend a small 'table-top' type tripod that I can use with my Sony VG20 to get some nice detail closeups?

I have a couple of cheap ones that came as freebies with various purchase but none of them are study enough (The VG20 is small but hefty with the kit lens)

Hi Pete

Unless you have unlimited cash (which I don't have) take a look at the Weifeng range..I have had my two for 3 years now and they are still good...theirs are mainly bowl units and I know they make some really professional low level units too!! They do have a website too with all the dimensions displayed

Thx Chris for that "Weifeng" tip! They are very cheap...I use a light and very simple hama tripod for my second unmanned camera (to hold my handycam) and was looking for a replacement as the tripod head on that hama is awefull. Normally I just set them up and let them roll but sometimes I need to reframe a bit during a recording and I"m not able to do that smoothly.
Will check out their site.

Agree with Chris, cannot recommend Weifeng enough (also goes under the brand Fancier). Heres a video I did after buying a few of their heads. I have since bought a full tripod with bowl mount etc. Great for the price!

Can't seem to find their website - any ideas about a UK supplier?

Hi Pete

You can find them mostly on eBay but the site will at least give you model numbers

Wow - don't think I've ever heard of a tripod called 'Glorious' before :)
