Does any company sell a adhesive-backed rubberized material commonly used on the vast majority of tripod adapter plates and quick release plates. I'd like to buy it in sheets so I can cut it to the size I need.

You could go to a bicycle shop and buy a 3"x3" repair patch for an inner tube.

Hardware stores and auto supply have both sheet rubber and sheet rubberized cork (they'll call it "sheet gasket material"), both really inexpensive. You'd carefully cut to shape and then use your own glue.

Looks like they have a large selection; surely I can find something that would work.
