I'm setting up a new computer and using Vegas Pro 11. I've run into two issues with the change over. Can anyone help with these?

1) How do i locate my custom render templates on the older PC?
2) The Main Concept MP4 standard templates (720p and 1080p) will not render giving the error message "the reason for the error could not be determined". Is there a codec install that i'm forgetting about for this?

Timeline footage is Cineform avi with source files of MTS and MP4 (1920x1080p @ 60 fps). I've used this combination many times to render out as MP4.

Vegasaur Presets Manager - easy way to export, import, save, copy, back up, and transfer effects and other plug-in presets in Sony Vegas Pro (http://vegasaur.com/vegas-presets-manager) (including render templates)

I've always been baffled by the lack of a facility within Vegas to transfer or copy custom render presets when installing a new version of Vegas. I can't believe it's that difficult, after all we have the Preset Manager for moving fx presets around. Perhaps there's more to it than meets the eye? Or perhaps they haven't got round to it?

I would be tempted by something like Vegasaurus were it not for the fact that I already have Excalibur and wouldn't use the majority of the other functionality that's seemingly duplicated. $99 for just the preset transfer capabillity versus half an hour recreating my seven or eight render presets in the new Vegas - a bit steep for an old skinflint like me :-)

I did some looking around for the Render Templates on my PC and found them! You can just copy and move them. For Vegas Pro 11 they are located in:

Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Render Templates\

Problem 2 while not solved is understood now...
The Main Concepts MP4 templates would not work when GPU was enabled. Turned it off and the render worked.

Well, you just saved me some time and others some cash! Thanks Mike.

Still think it would be good to have this done automatically (or on demand) when installing new versions of Vegas.

Punch this in the Online Help File, "Where Are My Custom Rendering Templates?"

The Online Help is,.. er.. very helpful.

Ah, but if everyone read the help text there's be no need for great forums like this one ;-)
