I just got my EX-3 back from the Sony Factory Service Center L.A. Calif. with a firmware update to 1.25.
I can not find any info on this 1.25 up-date for a EX-3 but I find it for a Ex-1 or R.
The camcorder I thought had a display problem, when I selected expand focus while recording in 30p the display would show a brief green overlay in the display then go to the correct color view of the expand focus area. I sent it in for repair of the above problem and also asked for and update also.
When I got it back it was noted that the expand focus green overlay was normal when recording in 30p and updated to 1,25.
I checked the camcorder and in the menu it shows 1.25.
Can anyone help as to is this the correct firmware

To my knowledge, the latest EX1 and EX1R firmware is actually 1.30 and it's not available on the North American XDCAM Microsite.

Latest firmware for the EX3 I could find is 1.16. I'd be curious, if this firmware supports XQD cards, that means it's the absolute latest.

The last time I had the firmware up date was last march and it was 1.18 and again I could not find any info for that one too, I called the 800 number and talked with their tect support and could not get anything from them then so I don't expect much when I call on Monday.
I did have an e-mail from the tect working on my camcorder who at first did say he would update this camcorder to 1.30 but got another e-mail shortly after saying he was incorrect as to the update number and it would be 1.25 not 1.30

Great - Guess the Zoom and focus box only works with the original supplied lens and not a B4 lens via an adapter. Cannot find the 1.25 firmware update on the Sony UK site.

Huh... 1.20 for EX3s is equivalent to 1.30 for EX1s and EX1Rs, since that update introduced XQD support.

I found through a Google Search that EX3 version 1.20 may be available on the Chinese XDCAM minisite. Use it at your own risk.
