Hey gang, I'm working my way through the manual on m new PMW-200 but I can't find a readout that allows me to properly set tone. i.e. I want to input -20db 1Khz tone to camera from my mixer but I can't tell where -20db is. I have the audio display in the lower right corner of the VF but no db markings. What am I missing?

Press the 'Status' button (located near the thumbnail button and VCR controls under the LCD screen) to bring up the status display screen..
You want the audio status screen (#2 of 5) - so use the menu scroll wheel or the arrow buttons to move to the proper screen.
You'll recognize it when you see it...

And I''ll just add to Dave's advice that you should be using the status screen to set ALL audio levels and not just tone. The meters in the viewfinder are for confidence only and are not meant for setting proper levels. Of course if you're using a mixer, then it doesn't matter so much, but when you're running a mic directly into the camera, you have to use the status page.

Dave & Doug, Thank you! I knew it was something simple I was missing and I knew there had to be a way to accurately monitor levels. Must have missed it in the manual but after 30 years of Sony manuals I'm not surprised. Again thanks!

Where's the "unpacking" video with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing in the background?
