Canon C300 firmware version 1.0.8.1.00 is about to be available for download. I'll post an update when the new firmware is available.

Here's the details:

Firmware Version 1.0.8.1.00 incorporates the following fixes and improvements:

1. Some of the EF lens products that can be mounted on the camera can be controlled more reliably.
2. Corrections to the Spanish and German language texts in the View Assistance function [View Assist.].
3. Efforts to correct image color fringing when a subject is of high contrast have been made.

Note: Firmware version 1.0.7.1.00 incorporates items 2 and 3 above.

11 months later and we get no UI improvements or new features.

Looks like the only firmware update I can see on the Canon site is for the PL version.

I can see lot of people getting disappointed that 50/60p at 1080 hasn't materialised.

Any rumours on a true firmware update to address operational functions?

I haven't seen any. I've given up hope.

Oh well that was a short lived camera for me then. Basic functions are required that a firmware update could resolve this issue.

It's got basic functions galore. Still a great camera.

For Pal users we are missing some basic functions. NTSC users don't have this problem.

I would REALLY like to get a Firmware-Update, but nevertheless:

I LOVE THIS CAMERA

Just shot with it today from the inside of a car on a bright sunny day. Its the first cam I ever used to handle a situation like this in such a graceful way. I dont understand all the hate.

Someone just needs to get in front of Canon at NAB and straight up ask. If they don't announce anything at NAB then I think all hope is lost.

Getting an answer would be great from Canon.
