Hey guys I'm in desperate need of some sort of steady-cam system for my xf300, I'm thinking about the VariZoom VZ-ZGRIG zero gravity mount., I'm wondering if anyone had any experience with it, or knows of anything similar or better for the same price or less? Shoulder mount is my preference. I was hoping to only spend 600-1000 but this one is offering more than just a shoulder mount so I thought it might be worthwhile...

Thx

Hi Aaron,

Check out our Steadicam forum at Stabilizers (Steadicam etc.) Forum at DVinfo.net (http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/stabilizers-steadicam-etc/)

Once there, click on "search this forum" at the upper right corner of the list of discussion threads, enter "xf 300" and choose "show posts." It should return several existing topics involving the XF 300. Hope this helps!

I've always been a fan of the Glidecam line. To fly an XF300, plan on getting a vest unless you have forearms like Popeye.

Hey Mark, I know I'm kinda in the wrong thread here, but I posted in the stabilizer forum with no response, but I'm curious about the varizoom vz-zgrig as seen here: VariZoom VZZGRIG Video Camera & DSLR Supports (http://www.varizoom.com/product-p/vzzgrig.htm)

it sounds really great for the price, but I'm yet to find a single review on it, I'm not sure how "new" it is, but I'm really close to purchasing and wondering if I can at least get an opinion from someone with a little more experience ahead of time.

Thanks!

Well, what is it you are looking to do exactly with the setup? You said that you were looking for a steadicam type of setup but you prefer shoulder mounted. Do you mean steadicam as in you can make your shots look like they are flying or are you just looking for some sort of shoulder support?
