I am waiting to receive one of these that I bought on Ebay. I now shoot with a GL-1; this will be my starter HD cam as I edge in that direction.

I have the manual for the HF200, but the setting retention is not clear to me. On the GL-1, some settings are retained when standby is activated, but a number are not and must be reset when the camera is operational again. The HF manual talks about pressing set to save settings, but I would like to know if someone can tell me which are and are not saved in standby mode: audio levels, white balance, manual focus, manual shutter and aperture, ND, and anything else I may be forgetting. Thanks.

I have the HF100 (2 of 'em) and the settings, one "set" pretty much remain that way until you change it. The only one I really remember haveing to reset each time is the selection of audo being output to the headphones. Each time you leave playback mode that setting "reverts" back to the AV data being sent to the headphone jack.

In record mode the headphone jack retains the selection for audio even if you turn the camcorder off.
